![]() Jesus uses a parable that references a farmer who planted some mustard seeds. This meant that He only wanted those who were serious about the word of God to get his message in a clear manner. He answered them by saying that He did this so that only those with ears could hear him. The disciples questioned Jesus on His use of parables. Also, Jesus explains to his disciples why he teaches with parables. In Matthew 13 Jesus continues teaching with new parables concerning weeds among the wheat and the yeast and the mustard seed.
